Malmfältsloppet 2010 in Malå - Marathon nicht nur im Sommer

Malå hat in Sachen Marathon einiges zu bieten. Nicht nur den Lapland-Ultra-Marathon im Sommer, sondern auch einen Langlauf-Marathon im Winter.

Heute gab es in Malå also den Malmfältsloppet, ein Langlauf-Marathon (die längste Distanz also über 42 Km) im klassischen Stil. Der Malmfältsloppet ist übrigens eine Qualifikationsgrundlage für das bekannte Vasaloppet.

Eine sportliche Herausforderung, auch wenn die Temperaturen heute im Vergleich zur letzten Woche “erträglich” waren. Unsere Bewunderung allen Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmern.

Besonders hervorzuheben die perfekte Organisation und die grosse Ruhe, in der der gesamte Wettbewerb verlaufen ist. Keine Hektik und kein fühlbarer Stress, trotz sportlicher Höchstleistungen. Grosses Kompliment an die Organisatoren und alle Teilnehmer!

Das Teilnehmerfeld war bunt gemischt. Nach der vorab veröffentlichten Starterliste waren es 79 Teilnehmer (wobei es Nachmeldungen gegeben haben kann). Gefahren wurde in 2 Klassen, der Wettbwerbsklasse (42 Km) und in 2 Freizeitklassen über 13 oder 21 Km. Start war um 11 Uhr.

Wir haben uns heute für die Endphase des Wettbewerbs entschieden und waren schwer beeindruckt. Die Läuferinnen und Läufer waren - in allen Klassen - mit grossem Einsatz bei der Sache und eigentlich hat es uns erstaunt, dass viele Läuferinnen und Läufer auch nach der längsten Distanz bei weitem gar nicht so erschöpft waren, wie wir uns das vorgestellt haben.

Das mag seinen Grund mit darin haben, dass Skifahren in Schweden sozusagen bereits mit der Muttermilch mitgegeben wird. Wir haben viele sehr angenehme Gespräche mit Teilnehmern und Begleitern geführt und haben fast immer hören dürfen, dass der oder die Teilnehmer(in) bereits seit frühester Jugend “auf Skiern steht/stehen”. Einige Gesprächspartner haben sogar stolz berichtet, dass die ganze Familie - vom Grossvater bis zu den Enkeln - aktiv teilnimmt.

Malmfältsloppet 2010 in Malå - Marathon not only under the summer season

Malå offers many opportunites regarding marathon. Not only the famous Lapland-Ultra-Marathon in the summer. There is also a skiing marathon in the winter season.

Today the Malmfältsloppet took place in Malå. The Malmfältsloppet is a cross-contry-skiing Marathon (classic style). The longest distance is 42 Km and the Malmfältsloppet is a qualification run for the well known Vasaloppet.

A challenge for all participants even if the weather had been quite gracious today (compared to the last 2 weeks).

We need to highlight the perfect organisation and the calm athmosphere. There has been absolultely no hustle and bustle on the trail even if all participants gave their best and showed a great performance. A huge compliment to as well the organisation as all the participants!

The field of participants was mixed. Due to the list it have been 79 participants within 2 classes (“professional” - 42 Km and “amateur” - 13 or 21 Km). Starting time has been 11:00.

We decided to keep our eyes on the last kilometers and the finishing line and have really been very impressed. All the participants showed up their best and we were amazed that they havent been as exhausted we thought they would be after the long distance.

Of course this is because many Swedes “grow up” with skiing. We had a lot of nice conversations and got to know families in which all family members - from grandfather to grandson - are “on the skiing track”.
